Our West Africa Programme partner, CDIR-Niger, organised its first collective fast-breaking event on March 19th in Niamey, under the theme of intra- and interreligious dialogue for peacebuilding in Niger.

This gathering brought together 85 participants, including Muslim, Christian, and Bahá’í religious leaders, representatives from civil society and international organisations, as well as government officials, all united in a shared prayer for social cohesion, peace, and security.

The event was opened by Mr. Cheikh Barham Kiota, Coordinator of CDIR-Niger, in the presence of Niger’s Minister of the Interior. Ms. Yagana, President of the High Authority for Peace (HACP) also spoke to emphasise the crucial role of social cohesion in the peace process.
