In 2023, PeaceNexus launched a partnership with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Burkina Faso to integrate conflict sensitivity into green growth and climate action initiatives.
As part of our partnership, the Global Green Growth Institute’s Burkina Faso country office developed a Practical Guide and a Guidance Note for integrating conflict sensitivity into green growth initiatives, published in May 2025. These documents provide concrete guidance for designing and implementing projects that are sensitive to local realities. Training sessions have reinforced the country office and implementing partners’ understanding and ownership of this approach.
A conflict-sensitive approach makes green growth initiatives more relevant to the field and contributes, in a complementary manner, to supporting stability and peaceful coexistence, demonstrating that well-designed climate action can become a real lever for peace and sustainable development.
